Let’s plant a better future
At 3A Composites Core Materials we manage over 13.000 hectares of FSC®-certified balsa forests in Ecuador and Papua New Guinea. Our BALTEK® balsa core materials have been used for construction of wind turbines, in automotive and marine industries. Join us in nurturing a greener future and plant your balsa tree.
From balsa seed to the core material
What is balsa?
Each year we plant more than 3 million balsa trees in our forests in Papua
New Guinea and Ecuador. From these forests, we manufacture the most
sustainable core material in the world – BALTEK® balsa wood. It’s a strong
and solid, yet lightweight core material. This combination results in
sustainable, durable, and energy-efficient end products. It’s sustainable
from top to core!
Why is balsa important?
Our product BALTEK® SBC is the world's first carbon-neutral core
material, sequestering more greenhouse gas (GHG) than those emitted
during its production. That means that the production of this particular core
material ensures a greener planet and better environment not only for us,
but also for generations to come.
What is our goal?
We want to make the industry greener. We want more people to join us in
our commitment towards a greener, more sustainable future. You can try
it for yourself - plant a balsa tree in one of our plantations and we’ll
send you regular updates of how your tree is thriving in its environment!
